The first useful tip I received at RHB bank's career preparation workshop was to avoid using weird names for email addresses. Our email address appears little and unimportant at the top of our CV, yet it is our primary method of communication. In today's work environment, having a professional email account is vital. Believe it or not, far too many people submit their CV or application using an unprofessional email address, which can have disastrous consequences for a job hunt. Some of us may have created email accounts with unusual names when we were younger. Hence, we should have a professional email address that includes our full name or a nickname.

Another crucial tip is to write an appealing cover letter. Ms. Nur Ameerah presented information to include in the CV as one of the issues she discussed. I was looking forward to learning new knowledge because I had already studied most of the fundamentals in Ms. Karen's class. Ms. Nur Ameerah had mentioned that when we save the file of the document, it should not be labelled "cover letter" since the employer or recruiter would immediately recognize it as such. It's great if I save it under my name. For example, Yogadevi_Coverletter. Because the employer or recruiter will only spend a short amount of time screening through the cover letter and resume, the employer or recruiter will know whose cover letter it is.

Ms. Nur Ameerah also emphasized that we should tailor our personal statements to the position that we apply for. Recruiters and staff review a large quantity of CVs. They always make the initial choice after a quick check of the CV. In the personal statement, we have the opportunity to reveal aspects of our personalities and goals. Normally, this information is intended for the cover letter, however owing to the speedy scan procedure for CV scanning, they may not read it at all. Thus, our CV is the most significant document for making a good first impression.

The personal statement allows us to rapidly advertise ourselves and separate ourselves from other candidates. The personal statement on a CV provides a brief review of our CV. We shall highlight the most important aspects of our CV in the personal statement. It includes a quick explanation of our experience, education, or talents, as well as a detailed description of our personality and professional aspirations. The personal statement is our fast sales pitch, telling a recruiter in a few phrases why they should hire us.

The second important thing I learnt during the RHB bank training was how to post our profile photographs. Your profile photo is an important part of your CV. The snapshot should provide recruiters or employers a good impression of how you'd appear if they met us tomorrow. We've all encountered someone who doesn't look like the photograph; perhaps it was shot 10 years ago, before they started wearing glasses or dyed their hair. It might be frightening if we just have an outdated photo, and when we encounter them in person, they may question our validity. Hence, we must ensure that our profile image is current.

Ms. Nur Ameerah also said that our faces, rather than our bodies, should take up the bulk of the image frame. Our profile image serves as a channel for conveying our online presence. Smiling, in general, will help applicants feel more comfortable and personable. It is also important where we take our photographs. We don't want anything to draw attention away from our faces, so a clean background will enable us to be the focal point.

Overall, I'm grateful for the chance to attend the workshop and get various excellent ideas that will be quite beneficial with in the future. It might be incredibly nerve-racking to realize that I will be entering the workforce very soon. Therefore, it's fantastic to gain knowledge and learn more about other subjects since it will help me to be better equipped to apply for a job.
