INTI Leadership Series on biz sustainability by CEO, Naga DDB Tribal

The first thing I learnt from the INTI Leadership Series on biz sustainability in the pandemic era is that leaders do not panic; rather, they prepare. Kristian Lee, the speaker, provided several suggestions on how to act as a leader and prepare. First and foremost, gather data and conduct your research. While every leader must strike their own balance, there is much to be said about listening to your own voice. For example, if I got information from local officials regarding an increase in diagnosed cases of the coronavirus, I should pay attention to both the facts and my instincts. I'm not sure what the infection means for my company yet, but I should be aware that it may be significant. Verify the accuracy of the information and assess how I react to it before making a choice. The second aim is to rally the squad. If executives are unsure about the virus's impact on their business, they might transmit the message to their operations and HR managers and encourage them to investigate more. When faced with a difficult decision, seek the advice of your team's other leaders. As you decide on the best course of action, solicit their assistance and experience. Third, Kristian Lee suggested to make a plan. To avoid panic, the leadership team should start putting together a strategy. For example, in combination with the Covid-19 epidemic, they may organise a "Covid Comms Team" comprised of representatives from communications, human resources, and operations. As a consequence, they can deploy as a team, arrange remote work environments, and communicate effectively.

Kristian Lee, on the other hand, stated that times of crises are chances to evaluate and grow. Leading during a crisis may be extremely stressful and challenging. Hence, there is an opportunity for leaders during the COVID-19 epidemic. There's no doubting that this pandemic is causing trouble in our personal life as well as at work. Teams are dispersed, unemployment is at record highs, and many aspects of our future remain uncertain. However, inside this adversity comes a chance for every leader to perceive this as a moment for growth and to lean into that challenge. Anticipation and reflection are two aspects that are crucial in assisting leaders in realising the advantages of any developmental activity. They are especially valuable when leaders determine how to effectively learn from this experience.

Plan ahead of time what you wish to learn. Enter this encounter with an open mind but also a special interest in a topic that will benefit you. Anticipating what we can learn directs our efforts and draws our attention to the opportunities for progress. Consider the chances that may exist for you and how your current circumstances may provide you with the opportunity to expand yourself and attempt new talents. Then, while you go, pause to ponder. What are you discovering? How is everything going? What has been the most difficult? Where may you benefit from assistance or a feedback partner? Finally, where will you be able to use the lessons, you've learnt in the future so that you can act? In times of crisis, leadership is forged. Time will tell us who successfully led others, who made wise judgments, and who motivated their followers to pursue a bright future. During this time, we will be recognised for how we handled ourselves and behaved with others. This is a difficult period, but it is also a chance for progress if we look at it in that light. Instead of retreating, we might see this as a chance to grow. Anticipation and contemplation can assist us in making the most of this time.

Overall, learning from the CEO of Naga DDB Tribal was a really informative event. He is unquestionably an inspiration to many striving youngsters. It motivates me to try and achieve more, especially now that I know more about him. It was also just what I needed, especially during such a tumultuous period as the epidemic. It gave me a surge of energy and was a highly motivating experience. As an introvert, it is quite difficult for me to keep up with the newest developments and to stay informed about issues concerning the workforce. Mr. Kristian Lee has demonstrated the importance of being up to date.
